Storm Slams Area Still Recovering From Tornado

(NECN) - As Western Mass. continues to clean up from June 1 tornadoes, another storm devastates the area.

Nearly 9,000 people were still without power Wednesday afternoon, and National Grid said it would take until at least 6 p.m. to restore power for all residents. A state of emergency has been declared to help surrounding communities, and to allow local officials to spend more money on cleanup efforts.

For some Wilbraham residents, this is a repeat of the June 1 tornadoes. For others, this was the first summer storm to pack such a punch.

" It was horendous hail. Noisy, I could not hear anything. I did not hear one tree drop down. The wind and the rain. It was frightening. The last one, I didn't get anything like that. It was close by, but I didn't get it." said one area resident.

No injuries were reported in the storm.
