Straight-line Winds Responsible for Vermont Weather Damage

(NECN: Anya Huneke, Stowe, VT) - Much of New England is cleaning up after Wednesday's severe weather.

The National Weather Service says three tornadoes did touch down in Maine.

There were no tornadoes in Vermont, but there is no shortage of damage, either.

Meteorologists say straight-line winds are responsible for the damage in hardest-hit Chelsea, Vermont. One homeowner's roof was ripped right off. And, road crews were busy today repairing a street that was washed out by the heavy rains.
