(NECN) - Meteorologist Matt Noyes is tracking the tropics, as usual.
There are a few things to keep an eye on.
There is a big flare up of thunderstorms just northeast of Turks and Caicos, it is one tropical wave being monitored, but no imminent development is expected with nothing showing up on the surface.
Tropical storm Ophelia, however, is out across the Atlantic, pretty far east of St. Lucia. It's a pretty decent storm but it is fighting wind sheers that will prohibit growth and may lead to weakening of the storm.
It is expected to make it's closest pass on Sunday and then curl off to the east, northeast Sunday.
