Travelers Face Delays, Cancellations at Boston's Logan Airport

(NECN: Jackie Bruno, Boston) - There are a lot of cancelled flights at Boston’s Logan Airport on Thursday because of the storm down south, but NECN found a few people who are getting out this morning.

They're the lucky ones because their flight left early enough. The Fernandes family of Littleton is skipping out on the snow and headed to sunny Fort Lauderdale, Fla., but they are worried about the storm.

“We already got delayed... We're hoping for the best,” said Jeffery Fernandes.

“We haven't got out yet, but if we do, I’ll have a nice drink on the plane to celebrate,” Stacy Fernandes added.

Some with early flights were able to fly out without any hassle.

“It's February... We lucked out.,” said Ginny Roe of Melrose, Mass.

However, Logan's lines were short because so many flights were already cancelled. Those who were flying west, like out Denver, Colo. were also able to fly.

“We're happy we're going west. We're happy we're going out early,” Jeff Barnhart of Mystic, Conn. said.

If you’re flying on Thursday, expect more delays and cancellations. Check with your airline before you leave for Logan.
