Two Tornadoes Rip Through Springfield, Mass.

(NECN: Alysha Palumbo, Springfield, Mass.) - Two apparent tornadoes touched down in Springfield, Massachusetts Wednesday. Governor Deval Patrick has declared a State of Emergency in response to the severe weather.

The governor confirms there have been four deaths due to the tornadoes that crossed parts of Massachusetts Wednesday.

Two of the victims were in West Springfield, and one person died in both Springfield and Brimfield.

1,000 National Guard members have been called up to assist in rescue and response efforts.

19 communities have been affected by the tornadoes.
