UPDATE: Coyote Trapped on Charles River Ice Is Caught

UPDATE: 2:50 p.m. - The Animal Rescue League of Boston was able to eventually capture the coyote in Cambridge. The organization released photos of the captured animal this afternoon. He is being cared for by wildlife veterinarians at Tufts Veterinary Hospital in Grafton, Mass.

(NECN: Cambridge, Mass.) - State Police and animal control officers responded to help out a trapped coyote in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The animal was stuck on the ice on the Charles River behind the Sonesta Hotel.

Crews tied a rope to a frontloader and lowered a worker into the icy water, but the coyote got free and ran away before he could be rescued.

Officers are still trying to track down the coyote.
