Volcanic Ash Cloud Could Affect Forecast

(NECN: Matt Noyes) - More flights are going in and out of Europe Tuesday morning.

But Britain's airports are still closed because of volcanic ash.

Overnight several airlines resumed flights from Asia to southern Europe.

But, there's no relief in Great Britain.

That country's air traffic authority says more volcanic ash from Iceland is heading toward the country.

European Union officials have divided air space over the continent into a no-fly zone, a caution zone where some ash is present and a safe zone.

Six days of canceled flights have cost the airlines more than a billion dollars.

Meantime thousands of passengers across the world remain stranded.
