Weather Week: Blue Hill Observatory

The Blue Hill Observatory in Milton, Massachusetts is steeped in weather history.

For Weather Week, out Matt Noyes took a visit to Blue Hill and spoke with Don McCasland, program director.

He said it was founded in 1885 and has been operated by Harvard and the National Weather Service.

McCasland said the way Blue Hill studies the weather has remained the same since 1885, making it the oldest continuous weather-observing site in America.

He also shows off some historic items, talks about their use as well as their history.
