Weather Week: Severe Weather Safety Tips

One of top weather killers in United States is lightning (Published Tuesday, May 27, 2014)

It's Weather Week on NECN and Matt Noyes is catching up with several tornado survivors in Monson, Massachusetts.

In this clip, you'll hear from Leslie Dunthie, who is part of the replanting committee in that community.

Noyes also takes a closer look at severe weather and offers some crucial safety tips in this segment.

Noyes says one of the top weather killers in the United States is lightning, and when "thunder roars, go indoors."

Noyes also notes that one of the safest places to be during a lightning strike is in your car -- not because of the rubber tires, but because of the metal cage on the outside.
