Winter Storm Slamming Worcester, Mass.



    Conditions rapidly worsening with heavy snow falling (Published Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014)

    (NECN: Alysha Palumbo, Worcester, Mass.) - Worcester has been hit with a pair of severe snowstorms over the past two weeks. Thursday's winter storm has brought more strong snow. It has rapidly intensified throughout the morning and afternoon. Conditions are worsening.

    The snow has steadily built up on the roadways forcing plow crews into action. The snow is freezing on windshield wipers. Travelers are making frequent stops to tend to them.

    Numerous businesses have shutdown early because of the deteriorating conditions.

    The snow is estimated to be falling at three inches per hour. The roads are slick and many cars are having great difficulty stopping.

    Snow is expected to fall through the evening.
