Winter Weather Paralyzes Midwest

(NECN/CNN) - The storm which is making life miserable in New England today has already caused major problems across the middle of the country.

In Missouri, officilas closed Interstate 70 from Kansas City to S. Louis for the first time in state history Tuesday because of dangerous road conditions. And in Chicago, the winter weather has forced the cancellation of thousands of flights, and caused damage to the Chicago Cubs' famed Wrigley Field.

There, high winds blew tiles off the press box, forcing the closure of nearby streets.

Conditions are slowly expected to improve as the day goes on.
