With Thursday Night's Event Transitioning to Rear-view Mirror, How About Saturday?

Saturday will bring the second accumulating snow event in three days for New England, as a piece of the Pacific Northwest storm parade continues zooming east, after passing through Idaho Thursday night.  This will be a moderate to high impact event for Southern New England, largely because of the timing - starting during the morning Saturday and ending Saturday evening.  With temperatures in the 20s for highs, road impact will be significant, with the warmer exception probably being the mid and outer Cape and Islands.  Total accumulation has the potential to reach five or six inches in a few spots, particularly from Northeast CT through Northern RI into interior Southeast MA, but it's early to speak with certainty.  The variable with this storm is that it's driven by a consolidated and very quick-moving lobe of energy - such a setup often results in a relatively sharp northern edge to significant precipitation.  As such, I opted to give a "minimum snow" forecast for now.  I'll be back to update it on the News at 9 on NECN Friday night.
