Worcester Residents Trying to Beat the Heat

(NECN: Kristen Carosa) - High temperatures across New England have forced people everywhere to get creative about keeping cool.

For some Worcester residents, the Dawson Public Pool was the best option.

With several water features, the pool can feel like its own little water park.

While swimming was enough for some, others went to nearby cooling centers that offered air conditioning as an escape.

The Worcester Public Library was one such center, offering air conditioning, computers, books, and even a new cafe to get cool drinks.

The Worcester Senior Center is another option for residents looking to keep cool.

Worcester city officials said that if any resident needs a ride to either of those cooling centers, they should call 508-752-9283 for a ride.
