Worcester, Mass. Residents Enjoying Sept. Heat

(NECN: Katelyn Tivnan) -  Steve Hunter is taking advantage of Wednesday's hot weather.

He spent the month of August building his new sail boat and didn't know if he'd get a chance to test it out.

"Water gets cold for me, not the air but the water it cools down, think sailing is a summer time sport," he says.

Hunter isn't the only one enjoying the temperatures at Indian Lake in Worcester, Mass.

"It's beautiful, don't know how many more we'll get, but we're enjoying it," Pat Walsh, who is also enjoying the heat, says.

"Just relaxing, sit in the sun, get some sun and fresh air and watch the boats go by," Jack Walsh says.

Nearby at Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt on Gold Star Boulevard, the weather is a nice treat. The 3-month-old business is happy customers are looking for ways to cool off.

"I got strawberry, mango, pineapple with a lot of fruit and candy," Brett Suprenent says.

"They say 90 degrees and hot weather means more customers, so I'm expecting more people today," Tutti Frutti's Chris Pak says.

Back at the beach, Hunter couldn't be happier about the heat.

"All I needed was one day to see if it floats," he says.

And a successful launch.
