Overnight Tuesday Night... Heaviest rain late evening will be across Rhode Island & Southeastern MA until 10pm. Steady rain becomes showers after midnight as a strong cold front pushes off the New England coast. Winds switch to the west. Rain turns to snow in Northern New England. 2"-4" of snow possible in the mountains.General coating of snow possible for many in southern New England as well. Lows around 40 Cape, 30s coast and 20's north and west where patchy black ice is possible by dawn. Wind becomes northwest at 15-25 mph.
Wednesday... Any left-over precipitation should exit the Cape & Islands by mid morning. Mostly sunny & windy with Northwest winds gusting to 35 mph during the morning, then diminishing during the afternoon.Highs in the 40s south, near 40F central, 30s north.
