Scott Brown: Sen. Jeanne Shaheen Doesn't Grasp Consequences of Obama's Foreign Policies

Brown made his remarks during a foreign policy speech in Manchester, New Hampshire

Republican Scott Brown says U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen is not only a naive follower of President Barack Obama on foreign policy but fails to grasp the consequences.

Brown, a former Massachusetts senator now challenging Shaheen in New Hampshire, criticized his Democratic opponent in a foreign policy speech Wednesday at Saint Anselm College.

Brown says Shaheen's refusal to join him in 2011 in calling for a transitional force in Iraq after the withdrawal of U.S. troops allowed the Islamic State group and other extremists to flourish, and that Shaheen is confused about national security threats.

Shaheen's campaign says Brown is distorting the facts for partisan gain. Former Pentagon spokesman Doug Wilson calls Brown's claims ludicrous, and says it's Brown, not Shaheen, who is confused.
