‘The Purge 3' Filming in Rhode Island

Several Statehouse locations are being used this weekend

Hollywood is coming to Providence.

Some areas of the Rhode Island Statehouse are being used this weekend to make the latest installment of a Hollywood franchise.

The state Film and TV Office says the Speaker's office, the Governor's State Room, the Capitol Rotunda and the basement are among the areas being used to film "The Purge 3."

Production will be preparing on Friday and finishing on Tuesday.

The movie, starring Frank Grillo and directed by James DeMonaco, is the next chapter in the series set in a futuristic America where all crime is legal for a 12-hour period.

Statehouse employees have been notified of the filming schedule and every effort has been made to ensure that work will not be disrupted.
