Boston Calling Kicks Off

Boston Calling was off to an electric start Friday.

People literally ran into the festival Friday night, hoping to stake out their spot to see Sia.

"I'm a huge fan," said Jenn Vega. "She's amazing. Her voice. Her songs. Perfect."

"We came because we wanted to see Sia really bad," said Allison Doyle of Austin, Texas.

While Sia is headlining Friday's show, the concert kicked off with Lisa Hannigan and Aaron Dessner.

The three-day festival continues through Sunday. In addition to great music, this year's concert will also have a comedy stage.

Local comedian Lamont Price will be performing, along with a hand-picked group of local talent.

"Boston is a hot bed for comedians, so it's extremely difficult to pick four," Price said.

Necn asked him to give us his pitch for why people should come to Boston Calling.

"If you like dancing, you like laughing, you like food out of trucks, come out, enjoy the sun, meet new people, have a great time," he said. "If you're boring and you like to frown, stay at home."
