Koalas are getting mittens after the land where they had lived was recently plagued by wildfires. Many of those koalas suffered burns on their paws while trying to escape. An animal welfare group asked volunteers to knit some mittens for the recovering koalas. Volunteers didn't disappoint and after just one day, 500 pairs had already been made for just 35 koalas. However, it takes a while for those burned paws to heal, so they can take all the mittens they can get.
