Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hosts Discussion on Medical Errors

Medical mistakes lead to as many as 440,000 deaths each year

Officials with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center will discuss efforts to improve patient safety after the showing of a new documentary about medical errors.

"To Err is Human" is being shown at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon on Monday night and at Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday. Hospital officials will be joined by the film's producer, Mike Eisenberg.

Medical mistakes lead to as many as 440,000 deaths each year. Eisenberg calls it a "silent epidemic" and says the film showcases solutions that are easy to implement and would dramatically improve the quality of health care.

The film and panel discussions are free and open to the public.
