Residents of an upscale San Fernando Valley neighborhood are getting a new superstar neighbor: Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Yasiel Puig.
The Cuban-born right fielder closed a deal to purchase a Mediterranean-style villa in Encino's Amestoy Estates for $2.65 million, Variety reports. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom property sits on more than 5,200 square feet and just a short drive away from the 101 Freeway.
The two-story home's curb appeal begins just beyond its black gate with manicured landscaping and a three-car garage. Inside, the home boasts ample natural light, an office and a butler's pantry. The master suite stands out with a tray ceiling, sitting area, a fireplace and double doors that lead to a private terrace with a view of the backyard.
Dining al fresco while enjoying the Southern California weather won't be a problem. There's a courtyard with a barbecue station, and just steps away there's a peanut-shaped swimming pool flanked by a lush lawn primed for a game of catch.
Puig, who is pursuing his first World Series title with the red-hot Dodgers, signed a seven-year deal with the team in 2012 for $42 million.
