McKinney high school student Kate Pepper was surprised by fellow students who threw a school dance in her honor. But first she had her make-up done and took senior photos.
While Pepper and her boyfriend Braylon Shavers were taking these photos, friends, teachers and family were preparing for the big surprise a mile away.
Pepper was first diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer, in 2014 but beat it.
The cancer returned last summer and this time there is no more treatment.
A make-up artist and photographers volunteered to shoot Pepper's senior photos. "It makes me feel all nice inside," Pepper said.
When Pepper lost her hair over the summer, she owned it in a bright-colored turquoise wig. Today, the wig is gone and her hair is back.
Pepper's story went viral after NBC 5 reported that she was banned from wearing her wig because it violated school policy. The District later reversed its decision.

Pepper did not know that following this photoshoot her night would include dinner and dancing.
Pepper would later be met by extended family she hasn't seen in years.

Pepper hasn't been at school that much lately.
The week before school started for her senior year, Pepper began to lose her hair from chemotherapy and radiation.
Pepper's mom Tyliece Pepper told NBC 5 the dance was planned "for Katilyn so that she can feel like a princess that she is."
Pepper's homebound teacher and other students also helped plan the event.
Pepper would become overwhelmed with emotion after arriving at the dance, telling the crowd, "you guys are nothing but blessings to me."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover the cost of Pepper's medical expenses.
