Abe & Louie's in Boston, Massachusetts, was one of the highest-grossing independent restaurants in the country last year, according to Restaurant Business.
The rankings are based on aggregate food-and-beverage revenues in 2014, and are considered a measure of a restaurant's success. Only restaurants with no more than five locations were included.
Abe & Louie's came in at #40, with with sales of $16.2 million and an average check size of $78.
It was the only New England restaurant to make the list.
The Top 5 restaurants on the list were:
- Tao Asian Bistro in Las Vegas, Nevada, with sales of $47 million.
- Tao Downtown in New York, New York, with sales of $38 million.
- Joe's Stone Crab in Miami Beach, Florida, with sales of $36.1 million.
- Lavo New York in New York, New York, with sales of $31 million.
- Carmine's in New York, New York, with sales of $30.9 million.
