20 New Englanders Make Forbes 400 List

Forbes released their 400 List of the wealthiest Americans, and 20 New England residents made the list.

Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos replaced Bill Gates as the number one wealthiest with a fortune of $160 billion, thanks in part to a one-year gain of $78.5 billion, but the New Englanders on the list included New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and WWE chairman and CEO Vincent McMahon.

Other notable New Englanders who made the list included Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund firm, and Karen Pritzker, heiress of Marmot and Hyatt Hotels.

Edward "Ned" Johnson III and his daughter, Abigail Johnson, made the list for Fidelity as well as other family members. Johnson led Fidelity as CEO for 37 years until his daughter replaced him in 2014.

Jim Davis and his family reaped $4 billion in sales last year for New Balance. It’s estimated the Davis family owns 95 percent of the private company.

Wayfair co-founders Steve Conine and Niraj Shah also made the list.
