Some Massachusetts Customers Could See Lower Electric Rates

Eversource has announced that they have filed with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities to have electric bills for eastern Massachusetts lowered.

According to a statement released Wednesday, the average residential customer should see a price cut of about $25, or about 20 percent, if the filing is approved, though charges will vary by region.

Eversource says that the Basic Service price for residential customers changes twice a year, once on Jan. 1 and once on July. 1.

Customers who purchase electricity through aggregate buyers or generators will not see a change in their pricing.
