Gloucester, Mass. Police Officially Kick Off New Program Helping Addicts

Police in Gloucester, Massachusetts, are officially starting a new program Monday aimed at getting drug addicts the help they need.

All people need to do is walk into the police station and ask for help.

Authorities say they'll be taken to the Addison Gilbert Hospital and won't face any charges if they have drugs on them at the time.

Gloucester's police department has also struck a deal with more than a dozen treatment centers around the country, from Maine to California, where those people will be able to recover.
