Police ID Man Killed When Car Struck Roslindale Home

The cause of the crash remains under investigation

NBC Universal, Inc.

One man is dead and another was injured after a car crash in Boston's Roslindale neighborhood on Sunday night, according to officials.

The crash occurred in the 3900 block of Washington Street around 5 p.m. when a car crashed into a triple-decker home.

The deceased and the injured victim are both men in their 60s, and neither were in the car that caused the incident, officials said.

The Suffolk District Attorney's Office identified the man who died as Egdio Dantuony, 60, and said he lived in the building that was hit by the car. The second victim was identified only as a 62-year-old man. His name has not been released.

"This is not the first house that has gotten hit before," neighbor Jay Barbosa said. "That's really unfortunate. My condolences to the family."

One neighbor came home from work to learn of the accident. She said her roommate was home at the time.

"I'm kind of reeling, because she just said someone died, and that's a lot," she said.

Barbosa said he hopes something is done to stop the speeding problem in the neighborhood in the wake of this latest crash.

"Maybe 1 to 2 streetlights or signs," he said. "Anything like that to prevent drivers from speeding."

Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
