One person was killed in a shooting in Providence, Rhode Island, overnight.

The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday on Manton Avenue, according to WJAR. Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument at a Mother's Day gathering.

The alleged shooter, Louis Sepulveda, is charged with first-degree murder. Police said he has a prior criminal record.
