2 Arrested for Violent Robbery, Police Looking for Other Suspects Involved

Police said a group of four or five men approached the victim and assaulted him before they stole his cellphone

Two men were arrested overnight for allegedly taking part in assaulting and robbing a man in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Police said an officer was traveling on Elm Street at about 2 a.m. Thursday when he encountered a man who appeared to have been assaulted.

The man, whose name was not released, said he was walking near the intersection of Canal and West Brook streets when he was approached by a group of four of five men. The group began to beat the victim and stole his cellphone, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, officials said.

Later that morning, another officer who was checking the area found two men who matched the descriptions of the suspects. As a result, 25-year-old Jason Dejesus and 22-year-old Gene Allende, both of Manchester, were arrested and charged with robbery.

Officials are still searching for the other men involved in the assault.
