New Hampshire State Police say two passengers have died in a car crash after the driver went through a stop sign and struck a tree in Jefferson.
Police said the crash happened Thursday night at the intersection of Routes 2 and 115.
Police said 77-year-old Roderick Bissonnette of Gorham was driving north on Route 115 when his car went through the T-intersection with Route 2 and came to rest beyond the road after striking a tree.
Two passengers, Alice Piattoni and Paul Couture, both 70 and also from Gorham, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital, where they later died. Bissonnette suffered minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
