3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash

Travis Veilleux will likely be charged for causing the crash

Three people were injured in an accident involving multiple vehicles near mile 106 northbound in Hallowell, Maine.

The three injured sustained injuries when a Honda slammed into a tractor trailer as it was slowing down. The occupants of the car are 20-year-old Travis Veilleux of Winslow and 20-year-old Stephanie Pleau or Vassalboro and the truck driver were taken to MaineGeneral for non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they do not have the name of the truck driver.

Veilleux's car caught fire and complicating the fire were two handguns inside the car and 40 bullets that went off during a 10 minute period. Four other vehicles also collided in the aftermath.

Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for a time.Traffic was backed up for five miles in both directions.

Veilleux will likely be charged for causing the crash.
