5 Accused Gang Members Arrested Over Stolen Property

Five accused members of the "Felony Lane Gang" were arrested in New Hampshire after officers discovered stolen debit and credit cards in their hotel room, police said.

Salem police say an officer observed a man and a woman acting suspiciously in the parking lot of a Red Roof Inn, and then started to speak with them.

During one officer's chat, another officer learned that the woman, identified as 24-year-old Samantha Proffitt of New Albany, Indiana, had an active arrest warrant in Pennsylvania, according to police. As the warrant was being confirmed, police say she led the officers to her room, where there were three other people.

Police add that officers could also smell marijuana coming from the room, and were granted consent to search the room based on this. During this search, police say the officers found items that didn't belong to the people in the room, including debit and credit cards, checks and a driver's license.

This resulted in the the arrests of Proffitt on fugitive from justice and receiving stolen property charges; meanwhile, four others were charged with only receiving stolen property: Ashley Beach, 24, of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida; Allen Clark, 26, of Oakland Park, Florida; Courtney Manuel, 27, of Lauderhill, Florida; and Cedrick Jones, 28, of Oakland Park, Florida.

Salem police say the Felony Lane Gang is a loose organization nationwide that usually targets parked vehicles outside of gyms and supermarkets.

All five will be arraigned Thursday. It's not clear if they have attorneys.
