5 Family Members Found Dead in Maine Home

Investigators said they do not believe anyone outside the family was involved in the Saco shooting

UPDATE (6:13 p.m. 07/28): State Police say shooting that left five people dead was a murder-suicide

Five members of a family have been shot to death in Saco, Maine.

State police say that it appears that the killer was a member of the family.

"I don't think there's anybody in this area that has to be concerned that there's somebody running around that did this," said Maine State Police investigator Chris Harriman. "I think everybody, like I said before, that was involved, they're in the apartment now."

The family lived on the second floor of the Riverview Apartment Complex. The bodies were found by a worker sent to check on the family's well-being Sunday afternoon.

Police believe the ages of the children to be 4, 7 and 12.

The parents are in their 30s.

An autopsy is scheduled Monday.

The identities of the victims will not be released before next of kin are notified.

Authorities from Saco Police and Maine State Police are investigating.
