5 Shot, 1 Fatally, On Violent Sunday in Boston

Five people were shot, one of them fatally, on a violent Sunday in Boston.

One man was killed in a shooting on Duke Street in Mattapan around 3 p.m. His name has not been released and no arrests have been made.

Three more shootings occurred in Dorchester over an 80-minute span in the evening, at 9:26 p.m. at 83 Maple St., at 9:51 p.m. at 197 Columbia Road and at 10:43 p.m. at 83 Fayston St.

The one victim shot on Maple Street is expected to survive, as are the two people who were shot on Columbia Road. The one person who was shot on Fayston Street suffered life-threatening injuries.

In addition to these shootings, reports of gunfire at the Aquarium MBTA station around 9:50 p.m. Sunday resulted in delays on the Blue Line.

Each incident remains under investigation.
