10 Minute Storm Wreaks Havoc in Bridgeport

(NECN: John Moroney, Bridgeport, Conn.) - Power lines and trees were ripped down by a suspected tornado that ripped through Bridgeport on Thursday.

A state of emergency was put in place and curfew in effect as the city worked on recovery from that damage done by the 10-minute-long storm.

East Main Street was closed Friday morning, with trees and cars in the middle of the road. Some buildings lining the street lost their roofs, and a torn billboard was hanging off a relatively tall building.

Reports that a tornado was responsible for the damage have yet to be confirmed by National Weather Service investigators.

No one was seriously injured in the storm.
