As the president issued his final news conference before next week's inauguration, two key themes emerged. First, the president wants Congress to raise the debt ceiling; he said Congress approved the spending and now needs to pay for it.
“This is not a complicated concept,” Obama said. “You don't go out to dinner and then, you know, eat all you want and then leave without paying the check. And if you do, you're breaking the law.”
Republicans, however, want spending cuts included. The president said that's a separate issue. Is this the fiscal cliff nightmare all over again?
