(NECN) - A Connecticut nursing school student got the graduation gift of a lifetime.
Kate Sobieraj turned around moments after receiving her diploma from nursing school to see her 19-year-old brother, Dylan.
Dylan, a Marine, had to ask for special permission from the Marine Corps to leave his base in North Carolina to get to the ceremony.
“My brother is my best friend,” Kate said. “”There's no one I’d rather have here. This was the most incredible surprise."
Dylan will soon head back to North Carolina to continue training, while Kate gets ready to start a new job at a hospital in Hartford
