(NECN) - A fight is brewing in Essex, Vt., and it's all over some pigs.
Florence Gruber keeps more than three dozen pigs at her home as pets.
Town officials say farm animals have no business living in residential neighborhoods.
Gruber is trying to get the town to change their mind.
"It's a house pet, that uses a litter box like a cat, you know? And so, we really would appreciate if like, the people of Essex would write letters to their town board telling them that they want to be able to keep, you know, these little house pets that are clean, quiet, and safe- and hypoallergenic- in their homes," she said.
The pigs are set to be put up for adoption.
