2 p.m. UPDATE: The Amber Alert has been lifted. Madison is safe and is going to be reunited with her mother. Williamson has been taken into custody.
(NECN) - New Haven, Conn. Police are currently investigating the kidnapping of 2-year-old Madison Wilson. The girl was taken from her home in New Haven by her biological father, Robert Williamson Jr. of New Haven. Williamson does not have custody of the girl. This is not a custodial interference issue, but a kidnapping.
Williamson is driving a Teal 2002 Dodge Intrepid, bearing CT registration 431-YTD.
Williamson had telephoned the girl's mother and threatened to kill himself and the child. He is thought to be in possession of a firearm and is bipolar.
An Amber Alert was issued immediately. The public is asked to be on the look out for the child, suspect and suspect vehicle. If spotted, please call 911 or your local Police department.
