(NECN: Katelyn Tivnan, Boston) - Boston Police detectives have arrested a man who was involved in a hit-and-run accident that took place on Mass Ave. Wednesday morning.
Allegedly, 69-year-old Lawrence Stead of Quincy, Mass. struck an unidentified man in his late 50's to mid 60's with his vehicle just before 6:00 a.m.
The man was rushed into emergency surgery at Boston Medical Center to treat life-threatening injuries.
Stead is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Causing Personal Injury. He will be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Stead is a former Cambridge Police officer who retired in 2009.
