Broadside: Michael Widmer on Mass. Budget Gap

(NECN) - There is a two billion dollar gap in the Massachusetts budget for 2011. Today, Governor Deval Patrick said it will have consequences.

Administration and Finance Secretary Jay Gonzalez says the state has to cut spending to compensate for lagging tax collections, a loss of stimulus money and rising costs in safety-net programs.

Michael Widmer, President of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation testified at a State House meeting Tuesday, and joins Chet Curtis to discuss the budget gap.
