(NECN: Amy Sinclair, Maine) - There were some frightening moments today for skiers at Sugarloaf resort in Maine.
A chair lift derailed, sending three chairs plummeting as far as 30 feet to the snow below.
The accident happened around 10:30 this morning at Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Eight people were injured in the accident on Spillway East. 220 others on the lift had to be lowered down one by one.
State inspectors are on the scene.
