(NECN: Kristen Caira, Boston) - Boston Police spoke out Thursday about the wild scene on the Boston Esplanade Wednesday evening during the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on the Fourth of July.
The threat of strong storms sent thousands of people into the jam-packed Storrow Drive tunnels.
Boston Police say that all things considered, the temporary evacuation of the Esplanade went smoothly. The evacuation was a precaution of lightning storms two miles away.
