Conn. Gov. Rell: Stay Home If You Do Not Need to Go Out

(NECN: Hartford, Conn.) - Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell is coordinating a staggered release of state and private workers to avoid transportation gridlocks as a major storm plows into the state.

Rell also ordered a partial activation of the emergency operation center in Hartford for agencies such as the Transportation Department, state police and emergency management to monitor the storm.

The National Weather Service forecasts 6 to 12 inches for most
of Connecticut by Wednesday night, while eastern Connecticut could
get up to 14. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph could create hazardous
afternoon driving conditions.

Gov. Rell joins NECN via telephone for an update.
