The victim of last night’s apparent hit and run fatality has been identified as Nicholas Silva-Thomas, 17, of Taunton.(NECN: Tom Langford, Taunton, Mass.) - Police are trying to find out who struck and killed a skateboarder Thursday night in Taunton.
The boy, 17, was to be a senior at Taunton High School this fall, where he was a member of the wrestling team.
"I would hope that somebody comes to their senses," said the boy's aunt. The boy has yet to be identified publicly.
The incident took place at about 10 p.m. on Bay Street near the entrance to Watson Pond.
Someone who witnessed the crash has reportedly come forward and police were taking statements Friday morning.
