(NECN: Tom Langford) - What's your sign?
Its a common question you're probably quick to answer.
But an article in a newspaper in Minneapolis is causing a buzz on the Internet... by reporting that your zodiac sign could be changing.
The over simplified reason -- a "wobble" as the earth spins means the stars in modern-day times aren't aligned the same way they were in ancient times, when the zodiac was created.
So, according to the article, a Pisces is no longer a Pisces.
Instead, its an Aquarius.
But professional astrologer Joyce Levine says, the article has it all wrong.
"We astrologists are not changing signs."
From her Cambridge, Massachusetts office, she points out, the stars influence zodiac signs in some Eastern cultures... but not in our culture.
"That's not what we use for the basis of astrology in the West. Astrology in the West is tropical astrology, its based on the seasons."
And the season's aren't changing.
Besides, she says, your personality depends on a lot more than your zodiac sign.
"The reality is that its more than just your sun sign that astrology is based on, it's the position of all the planets at the moment of your birth. And that's what makes you a unique individual."
So, the bottom line, if you're a Pisces, you're staying a Pisces.
And you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet.
