Federal Trial to Begin Against Makers of Anti-miscarriage Drug

(NECN) - A federal trial is set to begin in Boston on Friday in a lawsuit brought by four sisters against the makers of DES.

They say their breast cancer was caused by the anti-miscarriage drug their mother took when she was pregnant back in the 1950s.

Drug companies argue that there is no firm link between the drug DES and breast cancer.

DES was pulled from the market after it was linked to a rare form of vaginal cancer in women whose mothers took the drug.
