Fire Rips Through Historic City Hall in Taunton, Mass.

(NECN: Tom Langford, Taunton, Mass.) - Firefighters in Taunton, Massachusetts this morning battled a five-alarm fire at City Hall. The blaze is under control at this point.

Mayor Charles Crowley says a big concern is the records and computer data bases.

Mayor Crowley also says the blaze may be suspicious, but nothing is determined as of yet. The investigation is ongoing. The mayor says he saw a man, who had a beef with the city, inside the building.

The historic building was originally constructed in the 1840s.

Everyone who was in the building at the time has been sent home for the day; no injuries have been reported.
