First Video of Vermont Bus Crash; 17 Hurt in Rollover


UPDATE 8:13pm:
According to the Vermont State Police, 45 people were on the bus, 17 of them were injured. The driver is the only person critically injured.

Another bus from the tour company came and picked up the uninjured passengers. They have continued on their ski trip.

(NECN: Putney, Vt.) - As many as 40 people were injured when a bus carrying UMass-Amherststudents headed to Quebec, rolled over just after 4 p.m. At least sixof the injuries are believed to be critical.

Video from WPTZ shows the bus on its side, on the southbound side of I-91 in Putney, Vermont.

Ambulances were called from a number of New Hampshire and Vermont communities.

BrattleboroMemorial Hospital reports receiving what a spokesman termed 'walkingwounded', while more seriously injured patients were being taken tohospitals as far away as Albany, N.Y. and Dartmouth-Hitchcock MedicalCenter in Hanover, N.H.

Liz Brown, a spokeswoman for Tour World,the operator of the trip, says the bus driver was taken toDartmouth-Hitchcock in critical condition. She would not confirmreports that the driver had a heart attack.

Tour World issending another bus from Pennsylvania to Vermont. Brown confirms it isa UMass ski club that was on its way to Quebec City.
