(NECN: Washington) - Attorney General Eric Holder held a press conference this morning to announce the results to date of "Operation Broken Trust," a three-and-a-half month operation targeting investment fraud.
Holder said a nationwide law enforcement effort targeting financial fraud has led to cases against 343 criminal defendants and $8.3 billion in estimated losses.
Holder said that "Operation Broken Trust" is the first national operation of its kind aimed at a broad array of investment fraud schemes.
The operation was organized by the Obama administration's Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force.
